World Premiere and Panel Discussion of 8 Billion Angels

This year’s Earth Day week (April 16th to April 22nd) will see the virtual premiere of 8 Billion Angels, a documentary that tells the story of people around the world confronting the growing impact of overpopulation on their lives and the planet.
Population Institute Canada is pleased to promote this documentary, which is forthright in describing and illustrating what our supporters already know: that there are too many of us on the planet. PIC patron Paul Ehrlich describes the film as a “much-needed call for action,” and we’re encouraged to see that 8 Billion Angels dares to ask if growing smaller isn’t the most humane, ecologically sound thing we could do for ourselves and all life on Earth.

The film is the first phase of Earth Overshoot’s multi-tiered approach to raising awareness and normalizing the discussion about the impact that population and consumption growth are having on our planet and the steps we can take, individually and collectively, to create a sustainable future. We encourage our members to watch and promote the documentary, which will be shown on Tuesday, April 20th at 8 pm EDT. Tickets to the live virtual streaming of 8 Billion Angels can be purchased here and there will be a Q&A session after the event. For more information please check the website: https://8billionangels.org/
Happy Earth Day!
